Route M will close at a railroad crossing in Jasper County west of I-49 and south of Jasper on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 15-16, while railroad crews make repairs, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

All lanes will be closed at the crossing, and drivers will be able to reach driveways and entrances at either end of the work zone but will not be able to pass through it, according to MoDOT.

MoDOT said there will be no signed detours and that signs and message boards will alert approaching drivers; the department urged drivers to find alternate routes.

The work schedule could change because of weather or scheduling conflicts, the announcement said. MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map will provide information about road closures and traffic impacts, and the department said it can be reached in Springfield at 417-895-7600 or at modot.org/southwest.
