Pittsburg State University Athletics says the Gorillas will host the University of Central Missouri at Carnie Smith Stadium in Pittsburg at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association football game.
The athletics department says the game is Pitt State’s regular-season home finale and will include Senior Day and a Salute to Service contest. The team plans to honor its 22-member outgoing senior class before the game, according to the announcement.
Pitt State enters the matchup with a 3-6 overall record and a 3-4 mark in conference play, the announcement says. The Gorillas’ two-game winning streak ended with a 23-13 road loss to Missouri Southern State University in Joplin on Oct. 31, according to Pitt State Athletics. Central Missouri is 6-3 overall and 5-2 in the MIAA after a 31-13 home win over Fort Hays State University last Saturday, the department says.
Pitt State Athletics says this is the 63rd meeting between the programs, whose series began in 1916. Pitt State leads the series 47-13-2 and has a 24-7 record against Central Missouri in Pittsburg, according to the announcement.
